Consumers have a right to know. Unfortunately, the fur industry is banking on your ignorance. And retailers including Bloomingdale's and Bergdorf Goodman are flouting the law. An HSUS undercover investigation a few years ago demonstrated that major retailers were selling items trimmed in fur from the raccoon dog from China, a major exporter of fur destined for the United States and a place of horrific torture of fur-bearing animals. Raccoon dogs often are skinned alive.
